With an instance of notable progress in the development of knowledge, technology cars can now talk to each other. Recently jaguar land rover has started testing fleet of cars that can communicate with each other and surroundings (known as V2X) on roads of United Kingdom (UK); under the project named UK CITE, costing £7.1 million , making UK’s road first fully connected infrastructure for self-driving cars. The purpose of this research fleet is to improve safety, avoid accidents and in preparation of self-driven cars. This fleet of cars will be capable of both manual and autonomous driving. This latest technology will be proficient enough to communicate with other vehicle sensors and conferring the ability of vehicle to ‘see’ further down the road and ‘speak’ to other vehicles, infrastructure, pedestrians and the network.
Jaguar Land Rover is intended to introduce other intelligent features such as emergency electronic brake light warning (EEBL), emergency vehicle warning (EVW), and in-vehicle signage (IVS) for roadworks warning (RWW) and traffic condition warning (TCW) in near future.
