U.K based leasing firm named Arval warned the SUV drivers about the limitation of a vehicle. According to the firm, some SUV drivers believe their two-wheel drive crossover and SUV’s are better on snowy roads than a normal car but they are unaware of their limitations.
The popularity of these cars are increasing day by day but according to facts based on research, these cars are not sufficiently equipped to deal with bad weather… Generally, most of the SUVs are equipped with four-wheel drive but the popular fleet modes often feature a front wheel drive setup only.
As per the statement of consulting head of Arval these vehicles have an equal risk of getting stuck in bad weather as any other vehicle. But there is a void between the perception of driver and vehicle’s reality which can prove to be hazardous and may cause the driver to stuck in a potentially hazardous situation demanding rescue.
The leasing firm asserted that fleet companies should guide their drivers about driving in adverse weather condition along with the limitation of a vehicle. Since driving in snow require a special skill set.
